Amazon VS Flipkart

Now we will be comparing between a World Wide E-Commerce Giant (AMAZON) and an Indian E-Commerce Giant (FLIPKART)

Flipkart :
As in past years we have seen that Flipkart is growing way to fast in India and only in India, a Singapore registered company which is the fastest growing up startup of India,
got registered in Singapore just because of lack of investors in India for such a large capitol investment and also a very new idea which would change the shopping way of Indians, which
many investors felt that it wont be of much benefits, which proved to be wrong later. As Flipkart was the first company to bring online shopping on such a large scale in front of us,
just because of one of the biggest reason among many other reasons was COD (Cash on Delivery) which suited the Indian mind set of having trust with the product and money, bringing the product at the
door step and paying as per the bill, and this became a craze among the youngsters and students. Flipkart also had a sale and discount business strategy which also helped it to climb the stare to success
way to fast creating a interest in people of saving money and time simultaneously. We can say that Flipkart played with our Indian mind set of money and discount and security of the goods
feature of returning the product in less than 30days if in case you don't like the product or if a defected quality is delivered. But seeing the negative side of this facility which was consumers were
denying and declining the product on the delivery date + item were ordered one by one by same person rather than as a bundle at a time, which led to the huge loss in transportation which forced
them to put up a condition of delivery charges. After this addition of feature Flipkart started having genuine users but also had a drawback on students who doesnt need to order more than a book
or two who's total price generally never goes up the minimum charges, and the shipping charges were extra to be paid. Flipkart here played a marketing strategy with the price amount of the products
sold on its website which clashed with the Indian mind set, which was they gave high discount on the products and kept them just below minimum charge for free shipping, which gave flipkart
a huge hype of max discount compared to other websites but no one cared about the shipping price on that item which they need to pay extra. But the positive effect of this on flipkart's marketing
was that just to avail that discount and not to pay extra amount of shipping users generally ended up ordering more items which was an advantage for flipkart, but loss for the users.
Flipkart after suffering many loss on market now they have evolved and have come up with many new and cool features one among them is image search of items. For these many years Flipkart
has spread his wings wide and wide and now almost all types of products can be searched and bought from this website, and recent accusation of Myntra led them to sweep off the biggest competitor
among garments, and as per market strategy Flipkart brought Myntra way to down that it was standing independent. Anyways most of the parts of India Flipkart is the most famous E-Commerce website.

Amazon :
Now here comes Amazon, one of the most popular in India for E-Commerce business, but the truth is that Amazon's major market capitol comes from its Web Services which would be surprising for most of the
people in India, but the truth is that Amazon is company for providing web services and cloud data storage as their major business and coming down to E-Commerce was their subsidiary business.
But being as subsidiary business also Amazon beautifully excels in this too. Compared to Flipkart Amazon provides lots and lots of features which Flipkart will not even think of bringing it in their next
upgrades also. First coming to website crashing of Flipkart which always goes down on a flash sale and most of the users will be disappointed by the same. The reason behind this is flipkart has
concentrated more on their Visual Effect of their website which has made it too slow which takes lots of time to load and access on servers + changing their display everytime also makes them loose
from the cashed memories of the data servers and always requires a reload. For the same reason Amazon wins here who has not given much concentration on the UI and just worked more on the easy flow and
smooth and secured transactions on the network without much of the loop holes, and enables them to take millions of request per second during flash sales. Amazon second advantage came up when delivery is
considered which is very fast even for the cities in which their warehouse doesn't exists and are far from that. The loss on Amazon per unit currency is also less than that of Flipkart, which automatically
gives them a chance to present more discounts and availability of products. They have even partnered with many of their sellers to go for Amazon Fulfilled and product under these categories are self
verified by Amazon and are fully covered by them in case of any damaged delivery of that product. There are one drawback on Amazon is that there are different return periods for different categories.
If we consider Amazon's shipping charges then ya they have put up shipping charges recently but before they were no charging any shipping charge, but the shipping charge is was too less than that compared
to what Flipkart offers for all the Amazon Fulfilled products. Now Amazon is even expanding to the Grocery items too which will surely make them God of E-Commerce in India for sure.
As a common observer, I have observed that people are first searching products on Flipkart and then searching with same name on Amazon and finally buying from Amazon, reason for this can be it is somewhat easy
and UI friendly + plus more number of images on flipkart, so customer collects all info and reviews from Flipkart and then buy the same from Amazon. But as the time is passing by Amazon has improved themselves
with respect to this too, and slowly they are excelling on this too.

So as per my consideration we can mostly go for AMAZON for buying our products.

OLA Vs UBER

Hello Everyone :) We are launching this blog in order to Cleanse the Eyes full of Dirt of our world in our (Media + Tech world)*(E-Commerce + Apps)

Today we are going to start our blog by writing about our Travelling Life in Metro Cities.

I want to compare two of the largest CAB providers in our country (India) but in "Limited Cities” :P it's a sarcastic way to say that. People who know what i mean would be laughing by now, and the rest will be enjoying more while reading the coming up details.

CAB merely means a way of transport, but today for us OLA has become a brand for CABS, but let’s see how far is it true.
No doubt OLA was merely an Indian start-up but as the time passed and work load started increasing it started strengthening its root in our busy life, it made travelling so easy compared to hiring auto and travelling to distance that no one even bothered to look around what’s going on behind the wall.

OLA started with a loss in his business in order to create an impression in our Indian mentality; started giving up free coupons and ride money which everyone enjoyed with an added a feature of referring a friend and benefiting yourself with your friends ride, which led to an increase in users of OLA, obviously who doesn't like a few free rides :P

But the way we people were thinking that OLA went into loss in order to establish its business was solely wrong, it was a totally opposite to what we thinking. Just think why anyone will offer you with free things that too in India :P so here was the sole reason, as the number of users started increasing, its website started getting more number of hits which will obviously get paid through their ads. But no less they figured out that if users use their app they can earn even more from what they use
to get from their website which let to degradation and less felicities on website through which the major crowd was the booking at that time, initially the cab needed to be booked one hour before and it lacked the auto detect of the current location of the user.

OLA played a very nice mind game of reducing the money and showing that they are more cheap than auto, no doubt in that but they also added various add-on charges on rides like wait charge, service tax and etc etc, as no one is going to calculate the waiting time :P more over waiting was fully depended on GPS device which ping its location after every gap of time which is never accurate which led to increase in wait time charge when CAB moves slowly thus pinging same location multiple times.

After continuously decreasing the cab charges and creating trust in people, OLA took over a strong hold in the cities. It has now came up with idea of OLA wallet and our mode of payment started changing n people actually like the idea of travelling cashless and kept their account charged which again led OLA to earn more and more of the money i.e. it goes by same concept of how you earn interest on your bank account money, now in general people will not think about this much, and this was how OLA kept on giving us great discounts. And finally now OLA has come up with less minimum amount to start a ride, and started copying its competitor UBER.

Previously OLA was charging only according to distance travelled but now added a new concept of charging which is called “Charge per minute”, it means apart from the actual cost on the ride OLA will also charge you based on the time you are in the cab, actually as we noticed OLA already made a reasonable amount of money to counter its loss. And the shittiest thing about OLA apart from all its benefit is all its cabs are only available to a major location and most of its drivers just reject going to places less popular especially in midnight.

Now let’s see few of the features of another class observed by us i.e. UBER. No doubt in the beginning UBER use to be a big man's car services and why even after decreasing its rates it was not as popular as OLA, just because of our way of thinking, as in UBER we need to register a credit card or a pay tm wallet which no one wants to do as all are scared about losing money and I don't know why is that mentality is still among us why we look into our benefits only.....it’s not our mistake it’s the environment in which we grow up and always taught to keep a check on our things, people enjoy booking OLA because they can cancel the ride as and when they want but with UBER, it will deduct your Rs.100 from your linked account, n why not to..?

Same way if we consider UBER app it is more user friendly and clear in view about what’s going on, its rate card and other travel details can easily be viewed on the front screen itself and overall performance is far better compared to OLA in terms of finding a cab, booking it and especially payment methods. The most beneficial feature in UBER is it can be linked to your Paytm account or you can register your credit card, which gives security to even retrieve your money in case you no longer need the amount, where as in OLA once money is charges in OLA wallet it is now locked into it forever there is no other way to retrieve it back, which is a very flexible thing if we think from our Indian mentality :P.

Now we will see how UBER concentrate on earning money, it’s all about which most of the people ignores; UBER uses an algorithm which can detect how many users are currently looking for a cab any which type of cab in that particular area, and then check the number of cab available in that area of that type which enable it to increase the surcharge value according to it, if the number of cabs are less and users are more then automatically surcharge will go high as 1.2X, 1.3X and so on depending on the type of the vehicle and this algorithm works throughout the day independent of the time which even enables the person who wants to spend more money with respect to others can book the cab easily :P, that will help the person who is in emergency and can easy avail the cab. This can be found if the lightning sing on top of the cab type is active then it means surcharge is applicable and you can find the charge by double tapping on the cab type.

The most valuable and attractive feature which you will find in UBER cabs is they all are new and A/C is free on demand without extra charge, is it not awesome that this feature is saving you from heat and traffic pollution as well as dust, which is not at all in OLA cabs which is sometime becomes very irritating. One more feature which we analyzed in UBER is their drivers after confirming the booking need not ask for your exact location, because they can directly trace the route on Google map on their own which can save your time and problem in explaining the route to drivers which is more tough if you are in a new area, this feature can be used even while travelling if you don’t know the exact directions. As the UBER has tied up with Google and if you have this app in your smartphone then while calculating route in Google maps there will be another section that tells you the time required for travel by UBER.

So folks next time while you book the cabs keep every aspect in mind and be sure which one is best for you. And don’t forget to return back to us, so that we can add more to our article from your experience.
